Opening and closing an old metal hatch in our basement. The hatch is locked by two handles. The first two creaks are the handles being turned, the last creak is the hatch itself. At around 0:10, the hatch is closed again and the two handles are turned to closed position. Recorded using a no-name directional microphone. Door handle in my kitchen looped four times. Recorded with a tascam dr-05x. Noise reduction applied with a dose of vintage warmer. Is it warmer? i don't know.

This is a recording of a metal desk creaking with very little movement. I recorded this sound, amplified it, and removed the white noise. That's the only processing this sound has gone through. J'ai produit ce son en tournant la roue avant d'un vieux vélo et en freinant doucement. Les patins vieux et secs grincent sur le métal de la roue. Enregistré dehors, devant la maison, avec un smartphone. I produced this sound on an old bicycle. I turn the front wheel by hand, and i smoothly brake at the same time. As the brake pads are old and dry, it gives this monstruous squeaking :d. It's recorded outdoors, using a smartphone.

Large metal sheet and ornamental metalwork gate to village cemetery opened and shut, creaking on it's hinges. Recorded around midnight to avoid bird and insect calls - despite this precaution there were birds calling in the distance. On arrival i saw there was a house adjacent to cemetery. Fearful of waking the non-dead i didnt hang around for more than two bad takes. I've added this not so impressive recording to give a taste of what i hope to record of this wonderfully vocal gate in the future.

A unique sound i recorded in bangkok whilst standing on a floating pier waiting for a boat. The pier is made of metal and the sound produced is the empty steel pier rubbing against the pylons with each wave of the river. You can also hear a boat motor as a ferry pulls up to the pier.
